About Us

The Ship is one of KC's premiere live music venues. We offer live music almost every night of the week and often feature both early (matinee) and late night shows. Our PA and lighting equipment is top of the line, in good working order, and our shows are produced by some of the best sound and lighting guys in town. The Ship is dedicated to providing you a venue where you sound and look your best, you and your fans have a good time, and maybe even grow your fan base with new listeners.

Unlike other local venues, we ask you to create your own shows. You know best which bands or DJs pair well with your music, so if you have a show at The Ship, you're the one steering your boat. You will choose your own support, determine your set times, and settle payment.

The Ship

The original Ship barroom is a more intimate venue appropriate for DJs, small bands, jazz groups, and other special event. There is seating with good sightlines for about 32 people and standing room for up to 70 more.

Our new large venue, All Else The Sea, is one of the best sounding stages in KC. We have seating for over 80 people and standing room capacity for up to 350 people.

Marketing

It's always better to play for more people. Help us help you put on your best show: We need marketing/promo material from you and we've made it easy with our online submittal form.

Once we have enough information from you, we'll make an Eventbrite page to sell advanced tickets, a Facebook event for your show, and listing on The Ship's Online Calendar
